Honored to be featured as a story for TCU's "Lead On" Campaign! #leadon #gofrogs
If you couldn't tell, I'm a BIG fan of Texas Christian University; this university has provided me with an education and community unlike any other. The way TCU has supported me with resources and scholarships to pursue my passions is something I'll forever be grateful for. My advice to future frogs is: “Be pushy. Look for opportunities. Seek help. Run with your ideas. Don’t give up.”

Yep, that's right; this Monday, Aug 17th (aka tomorrow!), I will be launching all prints onto the SHOP tab of this website! Because this is something new that I've never done before, I've only ordered a set number of prints— around 1-3 prints of each design. Therefore, it will be on a first-come, first-serve basis where once prints are out, that is it! Based on how the prints do and popularity of type, I'll go from there.
Again— thank you so much for all of your support in this bold endeavor of mine. Be sure to keep updated in The Shindig both here and on the IG @shindigpublishing I am stoked to announce a change that I've been working on this summer— new logo! With the works of starting a print business to attach to my Shindig Publishing, I have decided to use my creativity and learning in Photoshop and InDesign to rebuild my brand. While I love writing children's books, they are not the cheapest passions of mine. I'm hoping to launch a print business with the mission of both funding my business, feeding my creative side, and sharing the gospel! Here's to something new, fun, and God glorifying. Prints will be launched to the site very soon so stay tuned :)
Y'all. This summer has been EXHAUSTING. I've been working a full time job at a graduation photo company, along with two part time jobs to start making some money. Why do I need to have three jobs right now? Well, here's the exciting part — I'm working on a new book! Yes, that's right, I have my fourth book underway and it is going to be a children's book about COVID-19. Something unique about this story that sets it apart from my other three is that it is based off of a young boy I know and happen to babysit! Stay in the shindig to keep updated :)
And....there's more news! I have been working on fun prints this summer. I love hanging up fun prints in my room, but I've always hated how pricy they sell for. I've decided to combine my creativity and love for these little, expensive papers into part of my business goals by rolling out affordable prints that are fun and decorative. Whether it's for your room or a gift to others, I hope to get these on the site real soon! New things are about to to join the shindig!
“We offer premier services, uniquely equipped facilities, and state-of-the-art technology. Our mission is simple: We partner with families to help children with special healthcare needs live a great life. The children and young adults we serve inspire us to provide possibilities and improve quality of life in a caring environment.”
Because my books focus on disability awareness, I got the unique opportunity to go down as one of the chosen authors to share my mission behind the stories as well as the books themselves! This was the Harkin’s first time putting on this event with a children’s author which is super encouraging to me because kids are our future. Many Thanks, Many Blessings! Beyond blessed to be able to take my passions to the next level; I couldn’t have done it without the support of my mother, encouragement at TCU, and perseverance to make a positive impact on the world. I’m reading this book called Don’t Waste Your Life by John Piper; a friend passed it along to me and said it was one of the most meaningful books he’s ever read. One of the things Piper talked about is how (my translation) life isn’t purpose driven when you’re scattered and you are trying to do it all. When you fall into this pattern that our culture can very much instigate, you only get to experience a level of interest that is too shallow to break surface into something deeper and more meaningful. It’s when you discover the few things that you are truly passionate about, and fully invest into them in a way that brings glory to God and life to the world that you start finding that why within yourself. It’s a work in progress each and every day, but I’m beginning to understand how to finally take what the Lord has given me to make good in the world.
Thank you Drake University, The Harkin Institute, & ChildServe for a beautiful time in Iowa! I will never forget this trip! Tis the season to be jolly, and bless this time of gratitude and unity! Life speeds up this month for many-the rushing for presents, planning holiday parties, and preparing for the New Year is already underway. I encourage you to breathe and be reminded of the reason we get to celebrate December: Him This year, I want to extend some love for libraries, hospitals, & schools, and use my books as a way of expressing gratitude for all that these places do for us and our families. Most of these books will be delivered to places in the Fort Worth area as I can personally deliver these books, but some may be shipped out! My holiday season will consist of going out to these places and giving my books to them. However, I need your help. Above are buttons that allow you to either donate a book, set or donation. Donations will add to another shindig (set of 3 books), order, or take into account shipping costs if books are not being personally delivered by me. This Gift of Giving page will be up till January 31st because who said that there was a deadline for giving?! When you donate or give, your name will be written on the book(s), as well as a note if you choose to write one. Thank you for helping me with my holiday endeavor! Let the Gift of Giving officially begin! Stoked to be invited to the Summer Author Series at the Harkin Institute at Drake University to share my children’s books! Click here for article published by Samantha Suttle, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator at the TCU Bob Schieffer College of Communication! I will be in Des Moines July 23-24th, so stay tuned on the gram: @shindigpublishing to see all that’s happening! Exciting News! Shindig Publishing was able to make it in an article under “The Most Inspiring Stories in Dallas.” Click here to check out the story!
Today, I got to visit West Birdville Elementary School in Haltom City, TX and meet two Visual Impairment (VI) teachers. I am so grateful to have met both Laura Hampton and Jamie Wheeler. These two incredible women were able to take a look at my new book coming out at the end of this summer about a young boy with blindness and make sure that all the information best presented a nine-year old with blindness. I also got to meet a sweet seven year old boy with both blindness and Autism. The way he walked around the school with not only his cane, but such grace was a beautiful scene to encounter. He told me how he loved to write books about cats after hearing about my books. Stay on the lookout for updates by following @shindigpublishing on Instagram or the Shindig page on Facebook!
And after a phenomenal first year at TCU, I have finally managed to release my second book this following summer! Here is a little bit about "Naomi" which is a story of a young girl with an orphan (very rare) condition called Osteogenesis Imperfecta or OI for short. I hope you enjoy!
