My name is Olivia Shin, but I simply go by Liv. I’m from a small town right outside of Portland, Oregon called Lake Oswego. Raised in a family of six, it was one “shindig” of a household! I currently reside in Los Angeles, CA where I serve as a financial planner at 49 Financial, and live with three other incredible women who challenge me with new perspectives, thrill me with fun adventures, & cherish me with deep community.
Life can be described as many things — short & sweet, complicated & unfair…searching & abundant. It took me fifteen years to figure out the "why" in my life, and to be completely honest, each day is a work in progress. It all started at the end of my sophomore year of high school when a friend invited me to YoungLife, a Christian Camp in Malibu, British Columbia. Here was the place where I experienced God’s unconditional love, undeserving forgiveness and never-ending grace. My life was radically changed by & through faith that week; it is Him who continues to give me purpose, guidance, and perspective in the mundane.
Living a meaningful life is very important to me; I believe we are called to be on mission to love others through the power of relationships and community. I also believe we were given such unique passions and personalities to share with the people around us. If only we would all make it a goal to radically love & serve others through what we love to do... oh what a happier place the world would be!
To end, I would like to talk about my favorite place in the world — Disney! I think that the magic truly happens the moment adults remember what it’s like to be a kid again; not a worry in the world, and a childlike faith that seems so simple. I wait for the one day where everyone can call their hometown the happiest place on earth because dreams really do come true if we have the perseverance to pursue them.
